Prepare for a full fortnight of family fun at the magnificent Thornbridge Hall. From April 7th to 21st (10 am – 4 pm daily), their Carriage House transforms into an Easter Fun Zone.
Imagine the kids immersed in Arts & Crafts, engaging in fun Games, and settling down for a Film Club session. And for hungry tummies? Chefs Ian and Simon will be serving up tasty treats and refreshments, including delicious ciabatta pizzettas.
The adventure doesn’t stop indoors. Embark on a delightful mission to find all the decorated eggs hidden around Thornbridge’s beautiful gardens for a chance to win a prize. For a touch of Easter sparkle, Lauren Spicer and Glitter Shrine will be on hand for fabulous Face Painting (additional charges apply). Egg-strodinary Adventures at Lyme (April 4th – 21st)
Lyme Park is gearing up for an “egg-strodinary” Easter from April 4th to 21st, 2025. Get ready for a colourful garden trail where you’ll hunt for wooden eggs, both big and small, hidden amongst Lyme’s stunning landscapes. The fun doesn’t end with the hunt. You can also hop and play your way through egg-themed games, challenges, and activities designed for the whole family. And the reward? A delicious chocolate egg* to take home (or a vegan ‘Free-From’ option), both made with Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa. This egg-cellent adventure is available for normal admission plus £3.50 per trail.
A Cracking Time at Chatsworth (April 5th – 21st)
Chatsworth, the jewel of the Peak District, invites families for a fun-filled Easter school holiday from Saturday, April 5th to Monday, April 21st. Unless specified, activities are included with your garden and farmyard ticket, offering incredible value for a family day out.
In the Garden, budding scientists can become Fresh Water Explorers on April 8th, 10th, 15th & 17th. Activities include making leaf boats and discovering creatures in the Trout Stream. Get creative at The Old Potting Shed with drop-in Water Marbling and Paint Blowing Workshops on April 7th, 9th, 11th, 14th, 16th & 18th. Let the little ones burn off some energy at the Play in the Pinetum. Here they can test their balance on natural play equipment all day long. Don’t forget to pick up the Family Trail map and explore the trout stream rapids, spot fossils, and admire the colourful blooms in the kitchen garden.
Get Crafty
Over in the Farmyard, get Crafty with free spring-themed activities in the Oak Barn (10:30 am – 4 pm). Little adventurers will love the Guinea Pig Handling sessions. They run at 11:30 am, 2 pm & 4 pm, with the chance to hold a tiny baby Chick Handling session at 10:30 am. Get up close and personal with the animals during Animal Feeding throughout the day (small charge for feed). Enjoy a relaxing Tractor & trailer ride through the park (small charge applies, April 5th-17th at various times). And for the ultimate Easter treat, join the Easter egg hunts from April 18th to 21st (£3, timed tickets available in advance only). It’s your chance to find hidden chocolate eggs and maybe even a special golden prize!
From the farmyard, take the secret tunnel to the fantastic children’s Playground. The playground has a huge woodland area, sand pit and water play (pack those waterproofs and wellies!).
Venture into the Park for some natural fun with Den Building in Stand Wood, available all day. Keep your eyes peeled for signs of spring with Seasonal Nature Spotting throughout the park.
