Love is in the Locks with the grand opening of the Bakewell Love Locker.

Get ready for a weekend of love, laughter and happily ever afters. From February 14th-16th, Thornbridge will be unveiling the Love Locker, a permanent home for the thousands of love locks rescued from the Bakewell bridge.

This isn’t just any structure – it’s the World’s Biggest Love Lock Rescue.

A Love Story for the Ages

Remember those love locks adorning the Bakewell bridge?  Facing the threat of being cut and melted down, these symbols of enduring affection have found a sanctuary at Thornbridge. The team there has designed the magnificent Love Locker to not only house these rescued tokens of love, but also to provide a space for new love stories to be etched in metal for years to come.

Join the Celebration

The grand opening kicks off on Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14th, at midday.  Join Thornbridge for a special ceremony, complete with media presence the national press and maybe a few other surprise proposals.

The love fest continues throughout the weekend.

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16^th

Embark on exciting treasure trails to find your perfect lock amongst the thousands already there. Ring the celebratory bell when you succeed!

Add Your Own Love Story

Be one of the first to add your own lock to a freshly unveiled section of the Love Locker. Bring your own special lock or purchase one from us in Bakewell. Thornbridge will also have permanent markers available to personalise your message.

The weekend will be free to attend with free parking and free entry to Thornbridge’s fantastic gardens.
