A Women Only Walk with Dr Emily Tim

Celebrate the Winter Solstice with a special women-only walk led by local historian and archaeologist, Dr Emily Tim.

This enchanting journey will take you to the heart of the Peak District, exploring the ancient and mystical landscape of Arbor Low.

As the first rays of dawn touch the horizon, you’ll gather at the Neolithic henge monument, often referred to as the ‘Stonehenge of the North.’ Dr Tim will share fascinating insights into the history, astronomy and cultural significance of this extraordinary site. You will then mirror the practices of our ancestors, honouring the solstice and connecting with the natural world.

Stunning White Peak

After witnessing this awe-inspiring sunrise, you’ll embark on an 8km circular walk through the stunning White Peak.

Dr Tim will guide you along the way, sharing captivating stories about the region’s rich history and geology.

What to expect:

• A serene and supportive atmosphere
• A knowledgeable and engaging guide
• Breathtaking scenery and fresh air
• A chance to connect with nature and like-minded women

Please note:

• This walk is suitable for most fitness levels, but some experience in hill walking is recommended.
• Sturdy footwear is essential.
• Please bring warm clothing, a hat, gloves, and a waterproof jacket.
• A snack and hot drink are recommended.

The event takes place on Saturday, December 21 at 4:30 pm. Tickets are £20.
