GeoStories has recently launched two brand new experiences – ‘The Great Mortality’ and ‘A Love Apart’ – that will transport you back to the heart of the 1665 plague outbreak.

The themes explored in ‘The Great Mortality’ and ‘A Love Apart’ – love, loss, survival, and separation – resonate deeply with our own recent experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic.  These stories offer a unique perspective, drawing parallels between the struggles of the past and the present.

While exploring Eyam, delve deeper into the emotional impact of isolation with ‘Love In A Pandemic’. This special exhibition at Eyam Church showcases real-life stories submitted by the public, capturing the power of love and resilience during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

Experience history at your fingertips

The GeoStories app is completely free to download from the App Store or Google Play.  You can choose to explore the stories from the comfort of your cottage. Alternatively embark on a captivating adventure through the village itself. As you walk the very streets where these historical events unfolded, the app’s GPS technology will automatically trigger each chapter of the stories, creating a truly immersive experience.
