Derbyshire Christmas Markets 2023
Everyone loves a Christmas market, so here’s our update on what markets you can visit in Derbyshire in 2023.
Fabulous Places Christmas Market – November 24 and 25 2023
Deb from Fabulous Places has been holding a Christmas market since 2009. She hand-selects each small business in attendance to ensure you can shop the most gorgeous seasonal products. At this year’s event expect to find flowers, greenery and plants, festive interiors, decorative vintage, home fragrance, handmade jewellery, porch decor and artisan food.
This year Deb and the team return to the glorious Shottle Hall for the event.
The market opens from 4 pm to 8.30 pm on Friday 24 and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday 25 November.

Chatsworth Christmas Market – 4 November 26 November 2003
Soak up the Christmas market atmosphere as you browse more than 100 stalls offering a wide range of Christmas gifts and decorations. Pre-booking is essential.

Thornbridge Christmas Market – over two weekends 17-19 November and 24-26 November 2023
Enjoy a mulled wine and mince pie and pick up a few Christmas presents from local artisan producers. The market is open from 10 am to 4 pm each day.

Bakewell Christmas Market – November 18 and 19 2023
A quintessential England Christmas market with more than 100 stalls. Just six miles from Wheeldon Trees, in the heart of historic Bakewell, this wonderful market is enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year. Walk the streets, sampling local produce, bag yourself some early Christmas presents and let the children run off steam on the various rides.
Bakewell Centre, 9 am to 5 pm each day.
This is a free event to attend.
Mercatum Christmas Artisan Market – from 16 November, running until 10 December 2023
Local artisans will be selling a range of quality items for the home and garden, seasonal food and drink, and arts and crafts in the atmospheric surroundings of Haddon Hall – a magical and romantic location for a winter market.

Peak Village Christmas Market – 2-3 December 2023
The Peak Village Christmas Market will run from 10 am to 4 pm on 2 and 3 December 2023. There will be live music, festive food and market stalls.
This is a free event with free parking.
Buxton Christmas Fair – 9-10 December 2023
Buxton’s Christmas Fair will take place on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 December 2023. The town’s Octagon Hall and Lounge will have more than 50 stalls offering a wonderful mix of Christmas gifts, jewellery, original artwork, photography, ceramics, woodwork, handmade cards and toys.
Entry is free.
Eyam Makers Christmas Market – 18-26 November 2023
Eyam Makers Market offers a relaxed festive shopping event in the historic Old Market Hall in Eyam. The market runs daily from 11 am to 4 pm.
Cromford Mills Christmas Weekend – 2-3 December 2023
Wrap up warm for the festive Christmas market and don’t miss Father Christmas. Enjoy shopping a festive selection of hand-made gifts, and on-site independent shops with live music to spread the holiday cheer.
The event runs from 10 am to 4 pm each day and is free to enter.
Matlock Victorian Christmas Market – December 1 – 3 2023
On the first weekend in December, Matlock hosts a Christmas weekend in Hall Leys Park in the centre of town. Browse over 170 stalls featuring both local and European products and crafts. There will be live entertainment throughout the weekend plus the switching on of the town’s lights.
The event is free to attend and runs from 9 am to 6 pm each day.

Thanks to our visitors’ amazing reviews, we were delighted to be awarded the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award 2023 for the second year running. To complete the hat trick, we were also the runner-up in best self-catering accommodation at this year’s Visit Peak District and Derbyshire Tourism Awards.
