Christmas wreath making at Wheeldon Trees
We are delighted to once again welcome expert gardener Carol Harris to Wheeldon Trees Cottages to lead two Christmas wreath-making workshops.
On the back of our successful events last year, Carol joins us on Saturday 2 December, 2023 to lead a morning and afternoon session of crafting.
Be inspired to create a beautiful arrangement for your front door at our festive workshop where Carol will show you how to make a seasonal wreath using natural foliage and blooms foraged from across Derbyshire. As with last year, we are also busy collecting foliage from around Wheeldon Trees so that your wreath is truly local.
The Long Room at Wheeldon Trees will be fully festive with Christmas refreshments served by the Wheeldon team. Our beautiful retreat of 10 cottages, set in 12 acres of Peak District National Park, will be dressed for Christmas and ready to welcome you.
Is there any better way to get into the Christmas spirit?
There are two sessions on Saturday 2 December. 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Each workshop will last around three hours. Click here for tickets.
Christmas in the Peaks
A visit to Chatsworth is one of the highlights of Christmas in the Peak District.
From early November to early January, the house and gardens are transformed into a magical winter wonderland for Christmas at Chatsworth.
The house is decorated with a different theme each year, and there are always plenty of festive activities to enjoy. In past years, the themes have included “The Nutcracker”, “The Snow Queen”, and “The Polar Express”.
Some of the popular events and activities at Christmas at Chatsworth include:
- A Christmas market with over 100 stalls selling Christmas gifts and decorations
- An illuminated walk through the garden
- A visit to the house, which is decorated with a different theme each year
The Christmas market runs from 4 to 26 November, and the rest of the events run from 5 November to 8 January. Tickets are required for all events, and they can be booked in advance online.
Christmas at Chatsworth is a popular event, so it is advisable to book your tickets early. Prices start at £34 for adults and £19 for children.
