Peak District January Walk
Peak District January Walk. Looking for something to do this weekend? Why not try one of the National Trust’s winter walks?
The weather may be bracing but in Derbyshire, there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!
Miles of trails
The National Trust cares for miles of trails in beautiful locations across Derbyshire and the Peak District.
One of their nearest walks to Wheeldon Trees Cottages is the Ilam Park, Dovedale and White Peak walk.
With its rolling hills, limestone cliffs and picturesque river views, Ilam Park, Dovedale and the White Peak is a popular destination for walks. What’s more, you can discover nature, unearth fossils and find stunning views.
Whether it’s a stroll by the River Manifold, a wander through ancient ravine woodlands or a hike over the hilltops, there are plenty of bracing winter walks to be discovered when you explore the White Peak.
Through the colder months, visitors will be rewarded with quiet landscapes and cool, crisp air to leave you feeling inspired and energised.
There are three great walks on the National Trust website to try out this winter:
Ilam Park to Wetton circular walk
This scenic walk begins at the historic Ilam Hall and Park and takes in both the River Manifold and River Hamps. On the way, you’ll encounter stunning views of limestone rock formations.
Ilam Park to Dovedale Stepping Stones trail
