10 things to do with your dog in the Peak District and Derbyshire If you…
Christmas in the Peak District
Christmas in the Peak District. It may still be September but at Wheeldon Trees, we are already planning for our December guests.
December at Wheeldon Trees is magical and there’s lots to do both on your cottage doorstep and across the Peak District.
Wreath-making
We are delighted to announce that expert gardener Carol Harris will be joining us. On 10 December 2022, Carol will run two Christmas wreath-making workshops.
Be inspired to create a beautiful arrangement for your front door, stairwell, mantelpiece or Christmas table. At our festive workshop Carol will show you how to make a seasonal wreath using natural foliage and blooms foraged from across Derbyshire.
The sessions will be free for guests staying at Wheeldon Trees. They will start at either 10.30am or 2.30pm on Saturday 10 December. As well as making a fantastic wreath, each session will include festive refreshments served by the Wheeldon Trees team.
If you’re staying on Saturday 10 December, we will contact you directly to arrange which session you would like to attend.
Christmas at Chatsworth
Further afield from our beautiful cottages, there’s lots going on in the Peak District. At the top of everyone’s list will be Christmas at Chatsworth. It runs from 5 November to 8 January 2023 and the house will be transformed with its annual Christmas displays.
This year Deep Midwinter: A Nordic Christmas at Chatsworth brings to life the Christmas legends, folklore and traditions of the Arctic and Nordic regions. Intricately sculpted ice walls, giant woodland hideaways, sparkling pine forests, candlelight, lanterns and traditional Nordic Christmas decorations crafted from wood and foliage evoke the sights, sounds and scents of the natural world in wintertime.
Spa Partners
Our spa partners, the Feelgood Pamper Company will also be available all weekend for in-cottage treatments. What’s more, we also have access to private chefs. Perfect if you and your friends would like to make a weekend of it. If a cosy country pub is more your thing, our locals will definitely be decorated for Christmas. If you’re lucky enough to be staying in our Farmhouse, you may also like to soak in our wood-burning hot tub. Add a glass of something sparkly and what more could you ask for?
