Celebrate the Winter Solstice with a special women-only walk led by local historian and archaeologist,…
Work is beautiful in the Peak District. As offices go, we think we may be the luckiest workers in the National Park.
We knew early on that we wanted somewhere lovely to work when not out in the gardens or busy in the holiday cottages. We wanted to truly enjoy the views of High Wheeldon and Earl Sterndale beyond and have a place to breathe.
After clearing an area under a group of magnificent trees, we set to work building our own office from scratch. We wanted it to reflect our style and be the bench mark for what we hope to achieve with the new luxury Farmhouse and Wheeldon Trees in the coming years.
With the help of master cabinet maker David Cantrill, we have created an oasis within the woods. Our aim is for the famous Peak District weather to make its mark on the exterior and in the coming months and years for the office to truly blend into its environment.
We have been building the new office while at the same time renovating The Farmhouse. The same use of colour will be carried into The Farmhouse and so too will our ambition to create a luxury retreat for friends and families to enjoy precious time together.
The kitchen is now nearly complete, with a rich creamy granite installed last week by Impala Stone. A new roof has just gone on the reading room and our decorators start on Monday. The window treatments are all ready to be installed and we’ve ordered the carpets.
In the coming weeks The Farmhouse will near completion. Then it’s on to more projects and of course the smaller matter of a wedding to plan. Perhaps a Wheeldon Trees Peak District wedding?
You can now book holidays in The Farmhouse from 2022.
