Walker’s Rest Cottage Access Statement

  • Access to the cottage is from a gravelled courtyard with an incline leading up to a flat paved area
  • The front door is 188 cm x 76cm, with the hinge on the left
  • The step from the path is 14cm high up to the threshold

Hall

  • The front door opens into a hallway. There is a light switch on the right hand side which is for the hall and outside lights
  • On the left is the bedroom; to the right, the hall leads to the open plan kitchen/living room/dining room area
  • The outside lamp switches on automatically at night when the switch is on
  • The non slip ceramic tiles in the hall and the living area are beige
  • The fire extinguisher hangs to the right of the door at 120cm
  • On the table is the ‘Welcome Pack’ with details of the cottage

Downstairs

  • The door is 198 cm x 77cm, with the hinge on the right
  • To the left of the door is the ‘L’ shaped kitchen. The work surface is 90 cm high and 60cm deep. The sink and ceramic hob are also at 90cm high
  • Above the hob is an extractor unit plus cupboard. Microwave oven, toaster and kettle are on the counter
  • Denby crockery, glasses and cooking equipment are provided in the cupboards above the work surfaces
  • The electric single oven is under the worktop
  • There is an under counter fridge with the highest shelf of the fridge at 40cm and icebox at 50cm
  • The downstairs is lit by spot and wall lights with under counter strip lights and a standard lamp
  • The lounge area has a leather 2-seater settee and footstool
  • There is a TV, video and DVD players with remote controls and a CD/radio player
  • The fire blanket is situated at 60 cm above the kitchen worktop
  • The round table is 80cm wide and has 2 chairs
  • A second door (230cm x 92cm with a step up of 11cm) opens onto the front patio area

Bedroom 1

  • The door is 73cm x 193cm.
  • The Super-king size bed is 184cm (6′) wide, and has a memory foam topper (height 68cm).
  • All bedding is cotton percale with non feather pillows and micro fibre quilt.
  • The bedroom is carpeted with light brown, short pile 80% wool carpet
  • The space to the left of the bed is 97cm wide.
  • The space to the right of the bed is 70cm.
  • The space to the bottom of the bed is 40cm.
  • The main room light has a switch at the door. There is a reading lamp by each side of the bed.

Bathroom

  • Door 84cm wide x 198cm high
  • Toilet seat height 40 cm
  • Distance to the left of the toilet 35 cm
  • Distance to the right of the toilet 30 cm
  • Sink height 80cm
  • Bath height 55 cm, length 150 cm and 55 cm wide
  • A separate shower has a step up of 24cm
  • The room has a wall mounted heated towel rail
  • The flooring is dark-grey non-slip tiles
  • Free floor space is 190cm x 110cm

  • Outside the cottage is an fenced paved patio area of 180cm x 600cm with small table and chairs
