Creating Christmas masterpieces at Wheeldon Trees
Creating Christmas masterpieces at Wheeldon Trees. Wheeldon Trees Cottages opened its doors last weekend to 32 wreath-makers all looking to create a magical decoration for their homes.
The Derbyshire creative workshop was led by expert gardener Carol Harris and held in our Long Room event space. Across the weekend we saw amazing creations leave our Peak District retreat on their way to destinations across Derbyshire, Cheshire and Yorkshire.
Dusting of snow
Alice Stewart attended the event, travelling from Derby. She said: “It was such a lovely morning. The location was brilliant and we were very lucky to see a dusting of snow, which made it even more like Christmas. My friends and I used the event as a pre-Christmas get-together. The absolute bonus was the professional wreaths we took home with us.”
Garden designer
Garden designer Carol Harris has worked throughout Derbyshire transforming gardens and bringing her own creations to life. At Wheeldon Trees, Carol inspired our guests to create their own beautiful front door decorations.
“I can’t think of a better location to get people into the Christmas spirit,” said Carol. “Set amidst 12 acres of Peak District National Park, it was lovely to welcome people to our workshop and help them create a stunning masterpiece for their home. What’s more, we tried to use local, natural foliage and blooms so our guests now have a little piece of Derbyshire this Christmas.”
You can view more of the creations and a reel on our Instagram page.
