Chatsworth Country Fair – 2 to 4 September 2022
One of England’s most spectacular annual outdoor events, the Chatsworth Country Fair takes place from 2 to 4 September 2022.
It will feature spectacular grand ring displays in the air and on land, demonstrations from celebrity chefs plus entertainment for all the family.
This year chefs Mary Berry, James Martin and John Torode join a host of Derbyshire culinary legends to offer cooking masterclasses in the Stoves Cookery Theatre and fine food village.

The Illegal Eagles – 4 September 2022
Celebrating more than 50 years since the formation of the legendary rock band The Eagles, The Illegal Eagles visit Buxton with a brand new production. Performing at the Buxton Opera House, this critically acclaimed show features all the classics from Take It Easy to Desperado.
Heritage Open Day – 9 to 18 September 2022
Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,000 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers.
Places across the country open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history.

Matlock Bath Illuminations – 10 September to 30 October
Matlock Bath Illuminations is a fun-packed family event featuring a spectacular parade of illuminated and decorated boats along the River Derwent. Across an eight-week season, Matlock Bath Venetian Boat Builders’ Association decorate themed models with an array of coloured lights. The models are mounted on rowing boats and paraded on the River Derwent each Saturday and in Derwent Gardens.
Sundays are themed nights for younger visitors, and there’s also entertainment including stilt walkers plus the fabulous parade of decorated boats on the River Derwent.

Buxton Crescent Heritage Experience
You can now explore the history behind one of Buxton’s most iconic buildings, the Grade I-listed, Georgian Crescent.
Set in nine rooms within the Crescent itself, the new heritage experience reveals the story of this special spa town, the building’s remarkable restoration and Buxton’s famous water.
The year-round, all-weather attraction is the perfect starting point for anyone visiting or learning about Buxton. The experience lasts just over an hour and is fully accessible. Entry is by guided tour or general admission.
Tickets are available from the Buxton Crescent Experience website and can be redeemed at the Buxton Visitor Centre in the Pump Room 10-15 minutes prior to the start-time.
