1.Jubilee Round Up
The beginning of June is all about the Queen’s Jubilee. Here’s a few of our favourites.
Thursday 2 June – guided walking tour of Bakewell from the river to the Old House Museum. About an hour and a quarter, and half a mile long, starting 1.30pm. Meet Visitor Centre. Cost £5 adult, children and dogs go free. Money goes to the museum charity. Contact museum (01629 813642) to save £1 on combined ticket for walking tour and museum entry.
Friday 3 June – Jubilee Street Party, Church Street/Main Street, Youlgrave. 10am-5pm. Youlgrave Silver Band playing from 2pm. Bring your families, friends and a picnic – all welcome.
Friday 3 June – our local village Hartington celebrates the Queen’s Jubilee. Expect a scarecrow competition and family treasure hunt.
Saturday 4 June – The magical gardens of Bonsall, 10am-5pm. Sixteen beautiful, quirky and unique gardens of the village of Bonsall will be open to visitors. £5 for adults and children are free. Refreshments available on the magical journey throughout your trip, both in gardens and at the two pubs and café. All proceeds go towards charitable village projects. Further information
2.Use our discounted tickets to visit the Heights of Abraham
Wheeldon Trees has partnered with Derbyshire attraction the Heights of Abraham to offer discounted tickets to guests. Guests of Wheeldon Trees can receive a 20% discount off the normal adult and child cable car tickets. The tickets are valid for visits and purchases until 31 July 2022.
The Heights of Abraham is an award-winning hilltop park attraction. Certainly, the most dramatic way to approach any of the Derbyshire caves – your experience begins with a cable car ride from Matlock Bath taking you high across the valley to the top of the Heights of Abraham. Each cable car ticket gives you free admission to all the facilities at the top. This includes 60 acres of landscaped grounds, exhibition areas and the Masson Pavilion Film Theatre.

3.From Joseph to Jubilee: A Musical Celebration
Hathersage Choir’s 2022 Summer concert will be on Saturday 11 June. They will be singing a range of pieces from an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical medley to a selection of music from The Queen’s Coronation, to celebrate 70 years of her being on the throne. The concert starts at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall. There will be a raffle and refreshments will be served at the end of the evening. The ticket price includes refreshments. Book tickets
4.The Great Game Treasure Hunt Peak District
The Great Game Treasure Hunt Peak District is a unique outdoor treasure hunt. The hunt will lead you around the area taking in all its famous landmarks and explaining a little bit of its history along the way. You are given a treasure map, compass and clues to find your way along the route. If you are successful, you will reveal where to draw the X on your treasure map to show the location of your treasure – a great pub! At the pub, you will receive a discount off your bill. 5.Night Swim to Live Music
Night swim to live music at Hathersage Swimming Pool on 17 June. Gather your friends and family and come along for a fun and unique evening at the Peak District’s famous outdoor pool.
