1. See Jools Holland & his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra at the Buxton Opera House

On May 18 see the iconic 19-piece Jools Holland & his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra at the Buxton Opera House. Tickets are limited so book soon to see the band which consists of pianist, organist, drummer, three female vocals, guitar, bass guitar, two tenor saxophones, two alto saxophones, baritone saxophone, three trumpets, and three trombones. 2. Use our discounted tickets to visit Chatsworth or book tickets for the Wine & Supper Club

If you’re visiting Chatsworth while you’re with us, don’t forget that we have discounted tickets. We can offer adult tickets for £16.50 instead of the normal £26. Just ask one of us when you arrive. As well as visiting the house, on May 19 you can indulge in a three-course meal created by Chatsworth’s chefs using seasonal farm shop produce from the estate and Derbyshire, along with expertly paired wines in its newly refurbished café. 3. Visit the Buxton Antique Fair

The Buxton Antique Fair hits town from 19 to 22 May 2022. This annual fair takes place over a Thursday to Sunday in the spring at the Pavilion Gardens. 4. Buxton Buzz Comedy Club

Friday 6 May 2022 at 8:00pm sees more stand-up from some new and not-so-new faces on the comedy club circuit at Buxton Pavilion Art Centre. May’s Buzz Club headliner is Dave Twentyman. Effortlessly funny and quick on his feet, Dave endears himself to the toughest of audiences as an act or a compere. He started his career in the Northwest and by his 11th gig was making his first appearance on live television in ‘Made in the Northwest’ in 2003. More information.

5. Visit Waingroves Well Dressing

This ancient custom is all but unique to Derbyshire. It’s the art of decorating wells and springs with pictures made using only natural materials. The Well Dressing construction begins on Monday May 2 and completes on Friday May 6, 2022. Visitors can see the construction on Wednesday May 4 where they can also take part in the dressing. The completed Well Dressing will be erected outside the Church on Saturday May 7, with the dedication will take place at 11:00 am. More information.
